Cedar Copper Necklace

The stability of cedar preserves its soil in every season. This was in my mind when I created this piece, crafting it from article to article, each one shaped and refined by hand until the whole piece moved like something alive.

The chain is made of interwoven X-segments, each individually shaped and adjusted, so it lies on the skin with a deliberate weight. From forty years of working with copper, I have learned that the best pieces do not demand attention but arrive quietly.

Those who wear copper close to their skin, around their neck or on their chest, often tell me that something changes. I promise nothing about this. I just know that copper has been worn this way for a very long time.

This is for someone who longs for something real that rests on their collarbone. Not decorative. Reinforced.
