Copper Earrings

There is a certain weight that grounds you; it’s not heavy, just present. This is what these rings carry. I wanted something that feels solid as soon as you put it on.

Each ring is hand-shaped around a mandrel, the tube is smoothed with a hammer, and it is thicker at the bend and thinner towards the hinge. This tapering requires a steady hand and a few attempts to get it right.

Wearing copper close to the skin is a practice older than most things we trust today; people have relied on it for generations, long before it had a name for what it does. I didn’t invent this. I just continued making these pieces.

I hope these earrings find someone who wears them every day without a second thought. That has always been the goal.
