Copper Ring

There is something special about the wrist, the temperature that copper retains, the weight that settles. I have hand-set the jadeite inlay. The colour stripe fits just as the moss sits on the stone, as if it was always meant to be there.

The people who wear copper on their wrists still do. For forty years, and I have never had to explain why.

It is part of my ultimate collection; when these rings disappear, it will be over.
